Volunteer Opportunities at Satellite Locations

General Information

We also place volunteers at a few of our Boston Children’s Hospital Satellite Locations. Opportunities at these locations are limited to shifts on weekdays during the day. The following locations include:

  • Martha Eliot Health Center, Jamaica Plain
  • Boston Children’s at Waltham
  • Boston Children's at Lexington
  • Boston Children's at Peabody

Available Volunteer Positions

Please review the positions below and apply if you have the availability and can make the commitment: 

1) Clinic Volunteer

Martha Eliot Health Center, Jamaica Plain 

This opportunity is available to volunteers at Martha Eliot Health Center located at 75 Bickford Street in Jamaica Plain.

Duties:

  • Interact with patients and families in the waiting room area- play games, read, and engage in basic art projects.
  • Help to organize and provide a safe, clean environment while assisting with toy washing.
  • Assist the supervisor with any other needs, such as programming or preparing materials for patients and families.

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old and graduated from high school.
  • If applying, must fully complete application and submit reference sheet.
  • Available to attend an in-person interview.
  • Available to start in June 2019 and continue for the year commitment.
  • Note: Spanish fluency is helpful.

Minimum Commitment:

  • One set 4 hour shift per week for one calendar year.

2) Reach Out and Read Volunteer

Martha Eliot Health Center, Jamaica Plain 

This opportunity is available to volunteers at Martha Eliot Health Center located at 75 Bickford Street in Jamaica Plain.

  • Check on waiting room book shelves and restock as needed.
  • Help to organize and provide a safe, clean environment while assisting with toy washing.
  • Assist the supervisor with any other needs, such as programming or preparing materials for patients and families.

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old and graduated from high school.
  • If applying, must fully complete application and submit reference sheet.

3) Clinic Volunteer

Boston Children's at Peabody

This opportunity is available to volunteers at Boston Children’s Hospital at Peabody at 10 Centennial Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.

Duties:

  • Interact with patients and families in the waiting room area- play games, read, and engage in basic art projects.
  • Help to organize and provide a safe, clean environment while assisting with toy washing.
  • Assist the supervisor with any other needs, such as programming or preparing materials for patients and families.

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old and graduated from high school.
  • If applying, must fully complete application and submit reference sheet.
  • Available to attend an in-person interview.
  • Available to start June 2019 and continue for the year commitment.
  • Please note: Due to the patient population, applicants should have experience working with children with developmental delays.
